FXB carries the name of François-Xavier Bagnoud, a helicopter pilot specialized in rescue operation, who dedicated his life to providing assistance to others. He lost his life at age 24 during a helicopter-borne mission in Mali. In 1989, his mother Albina du Boisrouvray, his family and their friends founded FXB to pursue in the field of development the values of generosity and compassion that guided his life.
FXB International (FXB) is a non-governmental organization with a 28-year experience in breaking the cycle of poverty. It is now present in 14 countries with a staff of 450 collaborators.
In the last 28 years, FXB International has developed 200 Community Development Programs – called FXBVillage Programs – across nine countries – Burundi, China, Colombia, DRC, India, Mongolia, Rwanda, Thailand and Uganda – helping more than 84,000 people out of extreme poverty. In addition, 17 million adults and children across 20 countries have benefited from the presence of FXB in their communities through sustainable community development, infrastructure rehabilitation, education, HIV/AIDS and other diseases prevention, awareness and access to water and sanitation programs.
FXB pursues a global approach to vulnerability reduction in several precarious regions of the world. We concentrate on the most forgotten communities, the truly unheard. FXB strongly believes that improving human and social development levels is inextricably linked with the access to all basic human, child and health rights.
